Turkey stocks higher at close of trade; BIST 100 up 0.60%
Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.60% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL), which rose 8.78% or 5.60 points to trade at 69.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) added 6.74% or 13.30 points to end at 210.50 and Can2 Termik AS (IS:CANTE) was up 5.73% or 0.09 points to 1.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL), which fell 4.49% or 0.71 points to trade at 15.10 at the close. Cw Enerji Muhendislik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:CWENE) declined 3.13% or 0.82 points to end at 25.34 and Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV) was down 2.99% or 1.80 points to 58.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 305 to 253 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 12.09 to $2,679.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $69.89 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $73.56 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.12% to 34.75, while EUR/TRY rose 0.20% to 36.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 106.27.
